Bonnie Barlow
MA, LMFT
Bonnie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Bonnie trained at the Mayo Clinic and practiced with an established group practice in the Rochester for four and a half years. Prior to establishing Transitions, Bonnie was part owner of a family business for 18 years. She obtained a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services and Post Masters Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary's University. This education and experience has prepared her to accommodate the many different aspects of therapy. Areas of specialty include: individual therapy, family therapy, marital counseling, relationship and blended family issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, weight management and mediation. Whether as a therapist, a divorce coach, a child specialist, or a parenting time expeditor, her experience and training to assess, diagnose and treat individuals, couples, and families adjusting to changing life circumstances are assets that help serve the needs of Southeast Minnesota. Bonnie is a qualified neutral mediator under Rule 114, Custody Evaluator, and Parenting Time Expeditor. She has also been a Psychology instructor at St. Mary’s University.

Debra Moran
MA, LP
Debra is a Licensed Psychologist and psychometrist, specializing in psychological testing and evaluation. She has more than 20 years of experience administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological testing materials, including intellectual, memory, achievement, personality, ADHD, and behavior assessment. Her areas of therapy interest include childhood disorders, parenting issues, mood disorders, and self-esteem. Debra's clientele includes individuals (of all ages), and families. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at St. Mary's University of Minnesota. Prior to establishing Transitions, Debra practiced with an established group practice in the Rochester area for 11 + years. She has experience completing disability examinations, including psychological testing, for the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. In the past, she served as a Mental Health Consultant responsible for identifying and assessing children for behavioral and mental health issues for a local Head Start program. She also has experience facilitating and co-facilitating groups. Debra's experience and training in both psychological testing and therapy provide a comprehensive approach to many of life's challenges and fulfills a needed service in Southeast Minnesota.

Kristi Meyer
MA, LP
Kristi is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in working with anxiety disorders including phobias, social anxiety, stress management, generalized anxiety and the use of (ERP) exposure and response prevention for the management of OCD and skill development for ADHD. She has recently added the use of Virtual Reality as an additional tool for providing in session exposures through virtual environments. She has extensive experience with ADHD and also enjoys helping clients challenge imposter syndrome and improve their self-esteem. She has over 27 years of experience as a cognitive behavior therapist with experience with all ages and most all general mental health conditions. Over the years she has developed a specialized interest in working primarily with adult clients struggling with anxiety and OCD. She spent many years as an in-person therapist and has transitioned to utilizing teletherapy for her practice since 2020.

Kristi completed her Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at St. Mary’s University. She has had experience developing and facilitating groups, completing disability assessments and has a long history of completing diagnostic assessments and psychological testing. She spent many years teaching psychology courses at the undergraduate level at Minnesota School of Business and at the graduate level at St Mary’s University. At the graduate level, she taught psychological assessment, child assessment, cognitive behavior therapy, and social psychology. Her clinical experiences and training have helped develop a greater understanding of using her skills to help her clients find their inner strengths, to enhance their coping skills and to develop the skills and courage to face their fears at their own pace.

Merrick G. Mitchell
MA, LPCC

Merrick is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Merrick is interested in working with people and families in all stages of lifespan development. Merrick trained and worked at Bluestem Center for Child and Family Development in Rochester, MN focusing on individual and family therapy. During that time, he worked with children as young as eight years old up to adults in their sixties.

Merrick typically – though not exclusively - works with people of all ages challenged by depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, autism, disruptive behaviors, life changes, inattention, and hyperactivity. Merrick aims to work with family members – especially parents - when working with children and adolescents.

Merrick has depth and breadth of experience working with people experiencing challenges or questions regarding career, family, or family- owned enterprises. He has experience working with military families, as well. He has experience working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate changes in interpersonal relationships, work, and education.

He is developing his practice to work with more couples and pursuing training in the Gottman Method to better assist couples.

Other prior experience includes two years working with children and adolescents with autism at a center in Rochester, MN. Prior to becoming a counselor, Merrick worked in industry and has experience in fortune 500 companies and management consulting. Merrick earned a Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience from University of St. Thomas and earned a Master of Business Administration and Master of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He has a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. He focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) but will use other modalities as needed. In his free time, Merrick enjoys bicycling, hiking, and walking his dogs.
